So things are all change fro us guys-and for me the last 9 months has been a roller coaster of a ride, and a time when all you can do at times is say-well God, it's over to you now (not that it ever wasn't!). So back in September 08 I started a different journey for me , a slightly unusual connection with a large land owner (large land, not large owner if you know what I mean) and it ended (or perhaps just really began ) on May 24th with the Big Church Day Out, a small idea that ended up being the largest one day Christian event this year, with a sell out crowd of 15,000. It would have been more scary if I had felt it was just my idea, but somehow I have only ever felt thrust into the middle of something much larger that God has been up to, and just a sense of needing to get on with the job that was already started.

The worst part for me in all this has been a counter on TheBigChurchDayOut website-watching the days go by faster and faster till May 24th arrived, at times feeling about 3 months too early because of the amount of work still to do. But the day came, and I am now a convert to the idea of praying for the weather as the hottest day of the year let rip on us all, only to make the experience what I had always hoped it would be, just a great day out, hanging with a lot of God's people in an extraordinarily beautiful part of the English Countryside.

We had some classic first year festival problems with traffic congestion and not enough food but all in all an overriding sense that this was the beginning of something huge. The day ended for me in the most perfect way, with the chance to play for an hour and a half with Delirious, the huge anthems and the huge crowds joining hand in hand under the night sky, a perfect end to an almost perfect day. Thank you to all those that came, suffered traffic jams but kept on going-see you all again next year.
