Excel Arena, London.

Well what a fantastic night as Delirious joined us for our first ever Hillsong conference in Europe! The boys were their usual dynamic selves and took us all on another tangible encounter with our awesome God. When Delirious are in the house you can guarantee that it is always going to be more than just a music event - it's an experience!!!

One of the great things I love about Delirious, as a pastor, is that they are not just a band of 'lone rangers' out there on the 'circuit', but are fully plugged into their own local church in the south of England. This passion for the Church and its potential is a great testimony of how being connected to something local gives you the credibility and platform to be able to speak globally!

Many may only know Stu G as the incredibly gifted guitarist of Delirious, but more and more people are beginning to switch on to Stu G - the Preacher! Stu G shared great wisdom and insight with the several thousand leaders gathered at the conference. His teaching showed a depth and passion, providing a glimpse into the 'God lives' of the band. Its pretty obvious that there is so much more to the members of Delirious than simply great music.

It is always a great pleasure to have Delirious in the house and we look forward to meeting up with them again.

Fue algo ESPECTACULAR, de principio a fin (ó si prefieren desde Here I Am Send Me hasta All This Time)!

Ni hablar del resto del set: Paint the Town Red, Majesty, History Maker, Rain Down, Solid Rock, All This Time, etc., etc., etc.

See You Soon Dear Friends!

Did you know? Dreams do come true when you trust in Him! Having Delirious? on the Rock&Vida 06 wasn't only a privilege, but also a dream came true for many of those whom were in the Huracan's Football Stadium on September 23rd. Seeing Martin, Tim, Stu G, Stew and Jon on stage and how they made vibrate the crowd with each song performed on the Rock&Vida was something really MARVELLOUS! It's the kind of gift that only God knows how to please us with!

I strongly believe this date, is to be remembered in our minds and hearts. For some, it will be because of Delirious? first ever concert in Argentina. But, for many lives, it will be remembered as the date of their first ever face to face meeting with the Miracle Maker and the right time for their lives to be changed forever. I don't know if you realised the fact that Rock&Vida is much more than a concert of great music, it is a big miracle's outreach, where many receives deliverance, healing,   and is the exact moment for many people to be restored by the supernatural power of God, which is manifest in said lives in such a powerful way through His love, grace and mercy.

Let's talk about the music. For the opening act, the best gospel rock band of Argentina, KYOSKO (awarded with many Christian music awards and owners of a great potential!) delighted the crowd with its tunes. Fabián Liendo (frontman) and the band members, started the engines and set the audience ready for a very special night. As always, KYOSKO, rock the house with a powerful setlist of songs that lifted us up.

The opening act was finished and then came Pastor Guillermo Prein (Pastor for Centro Cristiano Nueva Vida of Buenos Aires - New Life Christian Centre in english) with a powerful message of salvation and calling to all those non christians through a repentance's prayer to start a new life embracing Jesus as their Lord and Saviour. Also he shared the importance of handing down to everybody our best legacy: the word of God.

Now was the time for Delirious? In Argentina. Piru (Youth CoPastor for Centro Cristiano Nueva Vida and MC of every Rock&Vida edition) introduced the band and the people went crazy! It was 10.15pm when the first chords of Here I Am Send Me started to rock the house. Something AMAZING, from the beginning to the end (or if you prefer from Here I Am Send Me to All This Time)! Delirious? went through their old hits, also in Spanish, and included on the setlist were some new songs from their last release (The Mission Bell). No place for doubts, the concert fulfilled all our previous expectations. Excellent from any point of view.

Argentina's audience deserved a special mention: people, you were amazing that night! It was really touchy seeing you from the stage as you were singing, jumping, as you vibrate with each song of Delirious? AWESOME! On the other hand, did you pay attention to the Spanish phrases of Martin, as he did really well? Who could teach him so good? (Martin, you know whom... hahaha) Said phrases were enough to conquer to all the audience.

Those whom were next to me that night, they might have been surprised a little bit as they know me. I am not able to describe with words the very moment of Delirious? performing Miracle Maker. I can assure you that God's presence descends and moves there in such a special way and find myself with tears running through my face! What a beautiful moment! No handkerchiefs were enough to dry such tears! Tears of rejoice staring at the beauty of His presence. For sure, there is a now and then in my life after such a nice worship. Wonderful setlist, which included the following: Paint the Town Red, Majesty, History Maker, Rain Down, Solid Rock, All This Time, etc., etc., etc. No adjectives would be enough to describe the night of September 23rd.

To end this diary, first of all, I think that if you were there that night, you should have left the Rock&Vida festival with a clear and powerful message: Now is our time to make history painting red not only Argentina but the whole world with the blood of Jesus! Amen to that brother! It's not just a good phrase, it is our time to act!

And last, Martin, all the band wants you to know that next time they will not leave the hotel before making sure you are on the bus with them! Their apologies!...Seriously! Hahaha.

My friends, till next Delirious? performance in Argentina! Thanks to all the effort and support of Rock&Vida and Centro Cristiano Nueva Vida for making this dream came true. See You Soon Dear Amigos!

Brasilia, Brazil - Stewart Smith
Sep 22 2006

Welcome to the Delirious? South American Geography field trip. 2 nights in Columbia, 5 nights in Brazil and 1 night only in Argentina. Last nights show was in Brasilia, the capital of Brazil since 1970 something, interestingly enough it has been the 3rd capital of the country. What really caught my imagination was that Brasilia was cut out of the rain forests as a purpose built city, which us no mean feat in itself, what really got me going was that the planners decided to build the city in the shape of an aeroplane. The city has no sharp 90 degree turns only smooth curves joining roads together. Sit up and pay attention at the back sonny Jim.

Enough of the history lesson. Wow what an amazing gig, 15,000 passionate Brazilians singing there hearts out. One of the highlights for all of us was a spontaneous 'we will rock you' hand clap during 'Solid Rock'. It has been a real pleasure to hook up with all of the people and fans during this past week or so, thank you all you have left a profound mark on our lives. Last night as we talked we had the unanimous feeling that this tour had been the most extraordinary experience of our careers so far.

Goias, Brazil - Stuart Garrard
Sep 21 2006

What is going on? I’m pinching myself. This has got to be one of the best tours we’ve ever done. South America has welcomed us with open arms and tonight we played in Goiás. The thing that’s amazed us is that although we’ve never been here before, loads of passionate, vibrant, colourful Brazilians are showing up. We’ve been blown away by the singing which is at times louder than the PA. we are humbled and can’t wait to come back one day. Martin is doing a fine job with a few Portuguese lines connecting well with the crowds. I was happy with my guitar sound tonight, it’s difficult sometimes really settling with unfamiliar amps and differing mains voltages, It makes a big difference when it all clicks into place.

This is my first web diary since our holidays. We had a tremendous time in France joined by Tim and his crew half way through. While I was away I finished Rob Bell’s book The Velvet Elvis and I’ve come back rested but also challenged as a result. I and a few friends are on a journey discussing and wrestling with questions and issues we’ve had for years, hopefully discovering more about what it means for us to live a faith filled life in the 21st century. This tour has given me a chance to read some more and listen to some talks from Rob’s community, Mars Hill. I am inspired and feel like I'm peering through the crack into a huge old Mansion full of old secrets and treasure.

I love this job!!

Belo Horizonte, Brazil - juan moncayo - tour handy man
Sep 20 2006
Hi everyone this is Juan and I am the all around handy guy on this tour. So today I get to share with you about our show in Belo Horizonte. Our day consisted of the usual stuff for the Brazil shows… early morning to the airport (hopefully making it to the right airport *) Then short flight, pick up, and food at a churrascaria (aka crazy prime beef extravaganza feast) then going to the venue for set up. By the time this is all done, we usually get the next part of the day that is usually really like the day before right? The doors open, people get in, the band plays and does an awesome job, then tear down and ready for the next show right? Not this time amigos.

So Jeremy and I come out to our merch table and we find a couple thousand people in line outside the gates waiting to get in the show. An hour later the crowd starts to be not so in-line creating one of those interesting south american mob scenarios *by the way I am from Ecuador (South America) so I know what I am talking about* Then for reasons beyond out of our control the doors did not open until an hour and a half after what was promised to the crowd. So as you can imagine an hour and a half extra for people that already waited for 4 hours makes for a really not so happy crowd. So there we were, Jeremy, our beloved t-shirts and I in the middle between that gate holding 10 000 Brazilians, and the inside of the venue. What came up next can only be experienced and not explained. As that gate opened, madness happened as people were pushing and shoving, a couple people even trying to grab across the both to grab tshirts off our table. We survived tho! They all ran into the venue with an unmatched enthusiasm.  The show began and the whole place went nuts.  They sang, danced and prayed like you can’t imagine.

But wait, that is not all. A couple minutes later after we thought we were safe and the night was going to go more smoothly, we had some insane rain visit us. And by that I mean it could have been recorded for a video for “Rain Down” The rain was heavy, coming not just vertically but laterally because of the strong winds, much like those monsoons you see on television. All our t-shirts and display items were on the floor short after. Jeremy and I packed things and tried to go inside to escape the madness, and quickly found out that there was even rain falling on the band as they were playing! Either something crazy was going on, or the roof wasn’t doing a good job holding the rain.

But nothing could stop this party. Brazilians are always up for a good time and they enjoyed every minute of the madness.  Thank you Belo Horizonte for a crazy but beautiful evening.

Sao Paulo, Brazil - Jeremy Limpic
Sep 19 2006

So my name is Jeremy and I am one of the merch guys for this tour.  But selling tshirts and CDs is not my only skill.  I’m now very good at carrying luggage through crowded airports.

Well, every merch guy’s lifelong dream is to sell tshirts in your home town, and I had a chance to do just that when we went to Sao Paulo, Brasil, where I grew up.  For those who haven’t heard of this town, it’s the second biggest city in the world, dirtier and more beautiful than you can imagine.

The day started out with a brisk 5:45am departure from the hotel.  We traveled all the way to the airport only to discover that there had been a miscommunication and we were supposed to be flying out of different airport, which was 40 minutes away through heavy traffic.   Adrenalin took over as we used all our wiles to attempt to lure passing bus drivers into taking us to the other airport.  23 large luggage cases + 26 carry-on bags + 13 guys require a lot of room.  Eventually we made it and still caught our flight. Good thing!

After we landed, the first item on the agenda was lunch.  I’m sure the other guys already wrote about churrascarias we ate at every day so I won’t go into much detail about the glory of this meat lover’s paradise restaurant.  It will suffice to say that chicken hearts made their debut and were very much a crowd pleaser.

My job on this tour is to sell CD’s.  Our CD’s had been shipped from the distributor in Colombia, and were supposed to be waiting for us at the venue.  However, when we arrived, we discovered they were stuck in customs. So as you read this, picture our lonely CD’s sitting somewhere in a warehouse filled with other dusty packages, crying and wishing they could be put into an eager customer’s hand.  They are still sitting there.

Not having CD’s is a big problem if your entire job consists of selling them.  However we decided to try to be creative and alleviate the situation by allowing people to purchase the albums and then have them mailed out.  We hastily created an order form that in retrospect may have been more complex than the Florida voter’s ballot, but they did the trick and we were able to take orders.  I was fortunate to have an all-star team working with me consisting of my father and mother and a couple local friends.

Another somewhat random and educational experience occurred when I walked backstage during setup.  I turned a corner only to see a peacock standing on the balcony outside.  Apparently there are a few peacocks that live in the area (which is strange to me because this area is like downtown New York).  The security guys filled me in on the fact that peacocks can fly short distances, which explains how they got up onto our third-story balcony.  So, next time you see one of these birds, know that they don’t just look good, but they can fly too.

The promoter Joao and his team had done an excellent job and the night went smoothly.   The place was packed and people sang their heart out.   As I reflect on the night, I’m reminded once again of the sincerity, faith, and passion of Brasilians.  They are an inspiration to me and every time I come back here I remember why I love this place so much.

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil - Martin Smith
Sep 18 2006

Tonight we played our first ever gig in Brasil and it was awesome. I could hardly hear myself sing over the multitudes of people chanting every song as though it was the last day before we go to heaven! We have never heard such volume and rarely seen so much passion in a crowd it can only be explained as awesome.

This was the first of 5 nights on our first tour of Brasil and we have already fallen in love with the people and the culture. In the afternoon we took a bus up to the famous "Christ Redeemer" statue that overlooks the bay and sugar loaf mountain. It was hilarious as when we arrived thick cloud had descended on the mountain so much that we couldn't see a thing! Even standing at the base of the statue and you couldn't see further than his knees. "Blessed are those who believe but don't see", Jesus said, I was sure he was up there but only had the postcards to prove it! In fact we all photographed the postcards to say we'd actually been there, a fake, it was a brief moment of pharisaical behaviour! Down the mountain we came like Moses did, although he had seen God and we hadn't. Next time Lord. Next time Rio, and one more thing, Duran Duran were spot on.

Obrigado amigos.

Bogota, Colombia - Cesar Castellanos Dominguez
Sep 16 2006

Cordialmente,

CÉSAR CASTELLANOS DOMÍNGUEZ

Misión Carismática Internacional, Presidente

We thank the Lord for your lives, for allowing us to have the privilege of being visited by you, our young people had been longing for your visit for more than two years. Like I mentioned a little prior to your departure, your visit released a sweet sent of glory in the atmosphere of our church. God has given you a powerful grace to involve his people in true worship.

I am totally certain that all those who attended the international G12 youth conference "NO LIMITS", where able to enlarge their level of worship and strengthen their relationship with God, because our church and our international guests, not only received from you a grate demonstration of talent and excellence, but also messages of life that encouraged many to acquire a grater commitment to God.

The purpose of this event was to get every person that attended, to determine to enlarge their territory, that they would apply the essence of the prayer of Jabez in their lives, for Jabez implored God that he would bless him and that he would enlarge his territory. Every young person was able to see in you guys that God can surely do it; several of them have been able to enlarge their territory thru the G12 vision, and it is easy for them to expand in cells, and many other things. But thru you they where impacted and motivated to enlarge their life's of worship, to remove every limitation, because every time you guys ministered, you shared your experiences with grate humility and the transparency of your attitudes allowed us to see the character of Christ that is in your lives. This was evident all thru out the conference because from the platform you where able to flow in Gods divine anointing, pouring out your lives in true worship to God.

¡DELIRIOUS WE LOVE YOU! Was the phrase that more than 10 thousand youth shouted out to Express their feeling of gratitude and love that they felt towards you during your visit to our country. Today I can say with full certainty that you guys marked a before and an after in the International Charismatic Mission, we fell in love with your music, with your way of praising God, with your message of hope but above all you allowed us to see that you are one of the best Christian bands in the whole world, because you abide under the shadow and authority of the Almighty God. Like my wife Claudia expressed to you: "God is lifting you guys up, to become an inspiration to millions of young people all around the World."

Thanks for coming to Colombia, thanks for the concerts, thanks for your words, for your prayers, for imparting you talent and excellence over my daughter Lorena. Thanks for loving Colombia!

I really appreciate and admire you guys, and I sure look forward to having you back in my country real soon.

With Love,
