Sep 17 2005Last night of the Tour!
Having flown from Los Angeles over night to get here we arrive in Seattle mid morning and are driven straight to the venue. Tonight's venue is the Key Arena, Seattle. The concert has been put on as part of an outreach event aimed at young people who are into basketball, skating, BMX etc. When the evening arrives the arena is full of young people from the streets of Seattle.
The evening is opened by a man on a BMX somersaulting through the air over the top of one of his colleagues. Very impressive stunt! He introduces the evening and then it's over to Delirious?.
We blast straight into 'My Glorious', which the crowd seem to love. Unfortunately the main floor of the arena is set up as a skate park and the audience is in the stands. There's nobody at the front and we're not really inspired to rock! Fortunately, during the first song the organisers realise their mistake and let the audience on the floor. There's a mad dash for the front and before you know it the atmosphere in the arena is electric!
The gig flies by with classics such as 'History Maker' and 'Rain Down'. 'Miracle Maker' has the audience captivated and Stu G takes it to another level with his solo. We finish with 'God in Heaven' to rapturous applause but there's no time for any encores - we have to run for the bus to the airport! The gig goes down as one of the best of the tour!
Many thanks to the d: boys. It's been great fun over the last 10 days finding out what life on the road with Delirious? is all about. Now begins the 36 hour journey home!
