Jan 20 2009
Remember the days of 10,000 wide-eyed Christians heading down to Littlehampton sea front to soak up the optimism and send up the praise at those open air Cutting Edge gigs? Those were the endless summers before Delirious came fully into being and now, a decade and a half later, things are a little different.
Well, now they’re back. Sort of.
There may be more booster seats in the back these days, but Furious and Fierce are pleased to announce their support of TheBigChurchDayOut. On Sunday May 24th 2009 this one-day family-fun-and worship-day will do precisely what it says on the tin and leave you and yours inspired, entertained and fuelled up on fun and faith.
TheBigChurchDayOut is tagged a celebration of all that is good. According to organiser Tim Jupp, that won’t be hard to achieve: 'There's already a lot of excitement in London and the South of England for this event, and I am so excited that the church will have the chance to come together and celebrate that we are all part of something much bigger than just our own thing.’
In what will be one of their last ever UK dates, Delirious will be once again taking to the stage, along with Michael W Smith, Israel Houghton, Graham Kendrick, Yfriday, Cathy Burton, Lou Fellingham and the Kings Chamber Orchestra. The location - Wiston House near steyning in West Sussex (a country home of epic proportions) - with its backdrop of beautiful gardens and fields, makes for the perfect location for all the family.
Tickets are already on sale at Puratickets.com, and there are huge discounts for groups and early bird bookings.
